There are mods worldwide. Our own Information Desk has mods on the the west coast, the east coast, the east coast with a screwed-up sleep schedule , and Asia. I believe the Senior Moderator team (the team which is primarily responsible for moderating the unmoderated forums but who also have the ability to perform moderator actions across the entire board) have similarly global representation.

For those forums with a mostly U.S.-based moderator team, you can still report the post as normal, but if it's the middle of the night U.S. time, no one may be around to get the notification at that time. Perhaps the Senior Moderators should subscribe to email notifications from this thread and we can use this thread as a central reporting point for middle-of-the-night spam so they can be notified of it and assist in the quick clean-up? (I'm trying to think of solutions that can be implemented within the current forum software.)
