The big fare sale looks like a bunch of hooey to me. I keep checking for deals on the AA specials page, but nothing exciting at comes up.

I think the real decent airfare deals still have to be scrounged for...at least on AA, anyway. Some, you'll have to go through Orbitz or Travelocity to get the flights or routing you really want (the second SEA-BNA flight took going thru AA, Orbitz and Travelocity before I could get the flight down from over $280.00). Some fares were changing as I tried to book them.

I notice that they are opening up deals on limited markets through early June. I don't know if it's to compete with a WN promotion, but have booked two SEA-DFW-BNA-DFW-SEA May '03 runs at $180 apiece. Am watching SEA-BOS right now for Memorial Day weekend.

Also was checking SEA-ORD today and got a weird SEA-ORD-DFW-ORD routing at $185 r/t. With bonuses, these all come up at approx. .044/qmile or just under .02 per total mile.

Keep looking for fares from your hometown city that WN competes with, or where UA has a strong presence. I see AA really going after UA in some markets right now.
