I have done quite a few trips this last 6 months with BA around Europe,and all but once I had to ask for the envelope,and sad to say not many people handing them in.They do raise a lot of money though,I always put any change I have in the envelope,a good idea to collect on the aircraft.
Last week I would have agreed with you, but last weekend's BA 268 in WT+ was like a church collection. Almost every row had an envelope to offer.....And I think BA knew this....since by far the 'sturdiest' FA was seconded to the task of collection......
