here is a real alternative to several hundred dollar case.
That's basically what I've been doing, except using rolled-up shirts, towels, etc. to pad the bottles. It's cheaper than buying foam, but if one bottle were to break the foam would be a lot cheaper than needing to replace potentially several articles of clothing because of wine stains.
