I'll be arriving at the MGallery LaGare in Venice on Friday and I just got an email from Accor encouraging me to check in online.

I'm hoping for an upgrade at check-in. Does anyone know if checking in online will prevent me getting an upgrade?

I'm kind of tempted to put a write in the box on the online check-in "As I'm a platinum Le Club member and I'll be arriving quite late is it possible for you to confirm my upgrade now or should I ask on arrival?" Or is that too DYKWIA?

I guess I've got too used to the way Hilton handle this, where you can see at online check-in whether you've been upgraded and even select a specific room.
