las vegas hotel... Mandalay Bay or Monte Carlo?
two nights in vegas for an event in MGM Grand Garden arena.

Monte Carlo is closer to MGM by walking, but I heard the rooms and facilities are outdated.

Mandalay Bay has much better rooms and facilities, but it's a bit farther from the center of Las Vegas, and the walk from mandalay bay to mgm is about 20-25 minutes.

the room rate for mandalay bay is cheaper ($71.25 per night) than monte carlo ($91.50 per night)....

which one should I go for?

I have mlife gold status, what is the chance of scoring a room upgrade at either of this hotel. (thurs and fri night)...???
