Trip.com seems like they will change their position

I got off the phone with Stacey late afternoon yesterday and inquired about one set of tickets that they claimed did not get ticketed and that they would not honour. Seems like their position has changed from yesterday morning to late afternoon. It appears that British Airways will issue special "waivers" to have the tickets issued at the reduced fares. This is most likely normal practice with this type of situation. What we all have to understand is the following:

1. Any booking agent of BA like Travelocity, Expedia, or Trip.com did not lose money booking these $20.00 tickets. These fares were loaded into the system by BA and ultimately BA is responsible.

2. The only reason these booking agents are backing out of some tickets (which is a small percentage of the total tickets booked) is the fare is no longer available and due to delay/glitch in their ticketing system they will have to issue the tickets at $1000+ right now.

3. Yesterday morning they decided that there may have been a few consumers that did not get their tickets issued and gave them the usual policy that seats are only confirmed at time of ticketing.

4. Yesterday afternoon they realized that this problem was not limited to a few consumers and decided to contact BA to see how to rectify the problem.

I think that the tickets in dispute will be honoured as BA has already issued thousands of these tickets. They should not risk the bad publicity for a hundred tickets or so. BA should be giving trip.com waivers for issuing these tickets by Monday.
