Funny thing is that you can probably be in the military and get at least PreCheck without any further enrollment with things on your record that might preclude you from PreCheck and for sure from Global Entry. Certainly the military nowadays frowns on DUI charges/convictions and they're going to run an individual potentially through the wringer to supposedly make sure it doesn't happen again but they're not going to necessarily throw them out of the service. Now try to get a trusted traveler status on your own with a DUI record.
