I guess offering an AA (Citi) Advantage Card and 50,000 miles (which is much
more prominent than the current ORD advisory) is what AA
really wants you to see.
PS: I just turned on my mini IPAD, the AA CC offer is right up front, the ORD notice, requires scrolling (assuming you know it is even there).
