Actually it's why you should fly F.
I have heard there is a Y cabin in the A380 but have only ever seen the J and F cabins. Must go for a walk through the other cabins one day.

I believe that space behing the F curtain is inertia that is solely there to improve the ride for those at the front of the plane.
