I was searching for late May and had the exact same situation. No matter what itinerary/city pair I searched, the domestic/North America segments on AC only booked into economy. In the end, I wound up booking an itinerary that only used AC for a short Dash 8 leg at the end, so I don't care anymore, but it was annoying when I was still considering transcons on AC.
