There is no fee on buying Amazon gift cards, the way there is on Visa/MC gift cards. No fee on fixed amount Amazon gift cads, no fee on the variable $25-$500 Amazon gift cards.
The only expense I can think of is travel cost and time cost of separate trips to the grocery store. Is this what you were referring to???
