I use the airline socks for exactly the reason listed above.

Just a recent experience from this week: the socks are no longer available. The FA told first that Finnair no longer carries them (!). I needed to know to ask her to get the socks from the economy amenity kit.

I like the socks. A pity if AY has really dropped them from the selection.
