Thanks. I'm not going to try and have us stay in a single room even though there's more than enough space. The propertly website says 1 extra twin bed allowed per room and also says maximum capacity 2 adults plus 2 children less than 12 years old.

The one plus of booking 2 rooms is 2 complimentary minibars

Googling didn't actually reveal any different meanings for connecting and adjoining rooms.

I sure hope the 'adjoining' rooms are not completely separate rooms located next door to one another but it sounds like that's what they are at the Andaz Papagayo. That will be very sub-optimal for a family having to split up into 2 different rooms.
