Hi. I'm a newbie. Anybody have any ideas on how I can fly 3800 miles on Northwest by 12/31/02 -- on a weekend -- and on a budget? I'm in Minneapolis. I would like to do this in a single mileage run. I've seen a few posts reflecting multiple connections -- not sure how to do this -- or how people can find such low fares.

One option I have is a Minneapolis-London run. I can literally do a turn-around in Gatwick airport (over a saturday "night") for $515 -- and can get it for $355 with some vouchers. That way, I end up with 12,000 miles (8,000 actual and silver elite bonus of 4,000).

Can I pull this off domestically? Cheaper? Should I pursue the London option?
