was on AC721 today LGA YYZ. Many people looking to standby for the flight. Gate agent turning people away and not even accepting anymore people on the list saying no chance of standby. Flight took off with at least 6 seats empty (one in J and 5 in Y). I was asked to move from a back row 26 to the front along with a couple others because of 'weight issues'.

Found it odd they would not fill up the rest of those seats with standbys. Three of my colleagues that wanted to standby but had to wait for next flight out.
