Paying for a cruise with miles is a questionable use, unless you have a boatload (pun intended) of miles and no money.

Calm down. You just have to do the math. TSMRSRNE and I are cruising this year with a United Cruises booking and will earn approximately 33,000 RDMs. I value that at $660.00, maybe more, depending on how I use them. No other TA was willing to give me anything anywhere near that value.

Forty thousand? How long ago did you book that cruise? I believe United Cruises now has a 35,000 mile cap on earnings.
