Then QF canned NRT-MEL, and reissued as:
CBR-SYD-JFK/BWI-ORD/SEA-LHR-MAD-FCO-LHR-BKK-SIN-KIX-HND/NRT-SYD-MEL-CBR
Then after departing, the political situation in Thailand started to go downhill with the first round of riots. By the time I got to the MAD stop, several governments had issued travel warnings and a number of airlines had issued waivers. So QF changed the ticket for me (at no cost) to bypass the BKK stop and head right to SIN. The ticket was then reissued back to electronic with the remaining flights (MAD-FCO-LHR-BKK-SIN-KIX-HND/NRT-SYD-MEL-CBR). The agent said to retain the remaining paper coupons as they needed to be returned upon return to CBR. At the same time I did a flight (date/time) change with BA.
BA changed the QF32 flight over to the BA code (without permission), and when checking in for FCO-LHR-SIN with the new e-ticket, they still demanding the paper coupons.
Interesting! ^ However, I mean the situation has now (as of 2010?) changed to disallow paper tickets.
