I don't see a big problem. Get an additional card on your wife's account and then you'll be eligible for the dog gold and get priority pass to boot. Also, you'll be able to convert the Amex points to your spg account rather than your wife doing it and then moving between accounts.

It's already hard enough to use SNAs without having dogs get the select standard suite inventory, and I would feel worse if the premium suite were to be given to a dog rather than to me!>
