That being said, VALUE. Do you know what the value of everything is? As a verb, value concerns money. Do you know how much a gallon of milk is here in the US? How about in Japan in Yen? In the UK in pounds? In Italy in Euros? How about in Greece in Euros? Without a conversion chart, it would be difficult, no? That conversion chart is Delta's Award Chart. It tells us how much Skymiles is needed to buy a ticket that is worth X. By removing it, those who were unaware may not assess the value of a ticket as well as those who are. And that value can be changed at anytime without people knowing.
Completely different as mileage tickets use one currency (miles) to pay for the same product.
In your example, you use different currencies (USD/JPY/GBP/EUR) to pay for the same product.
Anyhow, how is less transparency a good thing?
(also, in the UK, the largest size of milk I saw in most supermarkets was 6 pints/3 quarts...)
