"We can arrange for an equivalent amount of miles/points"
Short version: Does anyone know how much NZ views Airpoints as worth vis-a-vis other Star Alliance partners?
Long version:
Due to a broken IFE on the inaugural AKL-NRT flight, I was given four Air New Zealand vouchers in the amount of NZ$30 each (for a total of NZ$120 in Airpoints).
The voucher states (after saying I could credit voucher to Airpoints account): "If you are a member of a Star Alliance partner airline loyalty programme, we can arrange for an equivalent amount of miles/points to your account."
There's no scenario where I can use the vouchers other than the store, although I could also gift them to a friend. There's nothing on NZ's website on how many points I would get, I literally got zero hits on Google for Air NZ and the quoted language, and even a supervisor at Airpoints said that I would have to send in the vouchers and cash them out to find out. The only ratio floating out there is SPG's 65:1 which I would gladly take to UAL, Air Canada, or any other Amex or Chase partner.
So I'm wondering if anyone here has any idea what these are worth. Thanks!
