Hi,
I'm needing to stay near the Incheon airport overnight for a 12 hour layover, on a Saturday night in March.

When trying to book a award night for 1 night, for March 21st, the most basic room type comes up as "Grand Deluxe King" which means points cant be used for it.

However, by searching for a two night stay starting from the night before, on Friday, March 20th to 22nd, then the Grand King room bookable with points comes as available.

Has anyone had luck in booking a two night stay as such and then calling in to shorten it the actual one night needed?

I'm contemplating though if doesnt work about it being worth 16k points with 1 unused night with the 20% refund for being a Chase cardholder, effectively making my one night stay cost 12.8k points for a room costing a cash price of $300.
