Does anyone have any input on the difference between Y and J redemption on DragonAir? Is it worth forking out 2x avios for biz class?
Also I am open for other smart RFS routes while I am down there as we will have about 7-10 days in total.
For CKG-HKG, J is pretty mediocre.
HKG-SHA, on the other hand, might be worth the extra 7.5k points if you book a decent plane (however, equipment swaps and cancellations are VERY common).
On SHA-CKG, your choices are basically MU, FM, HO (Juneyao), 3U (Sichuan), and 9C (Spring). Based in SH myself, I have to endure one or more of them (except for 3U) on a weekly basis, and all are them are equally blah (though 9C is a true LCC). That flight only costs around Y500, all in.
