My point to Delta is that they may be going a little overboard in their pricing, and this could be affecting who I use for my travel thoughout the year.
When I saw these prices last year, I was looking at 2 weeks out, and everyone accurately had the high price.
The CP price is not an awesome deal, it seems to be an above normal price for the route, which makes sense since it's Christmas.
What will realistically happen in this scenario is a loyal member ends up switching to a new alliance.
I was fine with paying a slight premium as a loyal member, $2-400, but $2400 is a bit ridiculous.
Will see if Delta can compete over the next couple months, but given that I'm going to be booking 5-6 international flights before then (last year they were all Delta), it may be a telling sign to jump on the new alliance.
