How does NZ's J cabin compare to AC's? (long-haul)

Question for frequent AC travellers who have some experience on NZ as well.

I'm going to Australia in May and for reasons of price and scheduling, it may be preferable to fly NZ through AKL rather than AC through SYD.

I'm curious to see how the NZ J cabin stacks up against AC's on the TPAC leg - mainly seat space/comfort, but IFE and meals as well.

Plane is a 77E on NZ, 77L on AC, so shouldn't be any difference there. The NZ pods look pretty similar to the AC ones in photos, but they do claim to offer 3" more length than AC's pods, which is meaningful to me if it's true (I'm 6'3").

Then again, I also read that NZ will be redoing all of their 77Es' interiors later this year, which suggests they might be worn out like AC's 763s...

Any insights appreciated.
