above thread is incorrect comparing 25000 miles on other airline to WN's Reward ticket. WN's RR is worth lot more than that, there is no capacity control, that is a phrase other never understand. just look at Ebay for the value of 1 Ebay RR.</font>
I don't know what people are paying on eBay, but I know that the maximum possible value for a RR ticket should be a little over $600
Why is that? Because the most expensive ticket on Southwest is 2 x $299.00 plus taxes. At least doing OAK-FLL, it priced out at a net cost of $621.00.
Yet, if you can plan a bit ahead, you can often do far better than that pricing. Moving my view out just a couple of weeks allowed me to find several WN options that priced that same OAK-FLL round trip, running from $421 if I wanted a Fri 11/15 and Sunday 11/17 evening departure, and just $256 if I could wait to leave until the evening of Monday the 18th.
In short, I'm not sure it makes sense to spend $360 now for a Rapid Rewards ticket later, unless you specifically travel at the last minute on long WN routes.
