Looking at how many more miles are earned from the CCs than from actual BIS, I've convinced the MS/CC churners are definitely ruining it for the rest of us.
In the meantime, DL is still reaping the money from a flood of CC miles, and isn't going to give up the fare-paying seats to accommodate all those freebie miles.
The MS/CC churners may not be all that bad, especially as the ability to sue the airlines (for gutting programs) was gutted by the Supreme Court using the excuse that then President Jimmy Carter's Airline Deregulation Act restricts litigation on these loyalty program matters. When the loyalty program points of a theoretical plaintiff are earned exclusively from just non-flight activity, options may open up.
