I have an upcoming avios flight from EDI > LHR > AMS in ce.

I wont be taking the AMS leg as its just a method to get into the lounge whilst accompanying my elderly mother through Heathrow (shes on a CW EDI > LHR > YYC) making sure she gets on the right plane.

After she is on the plane I have a virgin red flight back up to EDI many hours later, so plan to have a meal in the T5 galleries lounge and then offload myself from the AMS flight and make my way to T2 for the virgin red flight.

So, is it easy to get out of T5 airside or are there many hoops to jump through and how much time do I need for the T5 > T2 shuffle (hbo - check in on line etc)
