This all said, at some point congress just needs to overrule the ruling that the 1978 ADA preempts state tort laws, that would fix a lot of things wrong with the American airlines in a red hot jiffy!
They cancel the tickets without hesitation. It's clearly written in the CoC and their have been reports of this happening several times.
