You must be new to Delta. I've been with them a while now and it's truly disheartening to see just how low they have sunk. Even as recent as 2010 they were much better than they are today. In 2010 my DAB-ATL flight took a three hour delay due to a flap disagreement indicator. Without any prompting from me Delta sent me a physical letter in the mail apologist for the delay and they deposited 10,000 Skymiles into my account. So yes, I am definitely disappointed in how DL treated the OP.
Totally agree with how far DL is slipping. From issues like this to awful catering over the last few months, including the BE transcons. These issues with DL services, coupled with Anderson's recent comments about the ME3 airlines and 9/11 aren't exactly painting DL in the best picture as of late. It'll be interesting to see how many people jump ship after their medallion status drops March 1st.
