Just a quick observation/question here. I'd consider myself a moderately frequent flyer as I only fly long haul really and probably a dozen times a year or so. Through this I would qualify for silver quite comfortably every year.

Last year, a family member was entitled to an extra gold cold because of his GGL status, he does LHR-EWR practically every weekend so I guess it was deserved!

He gave it to me and I've of course being enjoying gold benefits for the last year or so. One observation I must make though is the shear amount of OpUps I've gotten. My usual route is IAD-LHR and back and I would say probably around 7 of 12 flights originally booked in WTP were upgraded at checkin/gate/lounge. I've almost come to expect it and I'm hardly complaining!

So my question is, am I suddenly considered the same level of this family member with his GGL status, as I'm holding his guest card? Because of his status, he gets the upgrades all the time, but I've found I've been getting a ton of them too. In fact, I've been OPuped a few times and even peaked and seen pax with gold tags in WTP that I've thought must be ahead of me...
