AFAIK, and I'm no expert, pretty much anything ex-DUB is going to be good value ... nearly all our future travel to the USA is being routed through there. However, if you're planning on using Avios [Airmiles??] you need to book before 28 April ... that's when things get worse/'enhanced'. Before that date, it's on the current rules.

Don't forget you can book through to FL with AA or whoever ... and you don't have to use Avios on every sector ... I think.

As to the minutiae of buying Avios ... I'm sure someone else will advise on that. I earn enough through spending money and flying to have any idea what the real value might be.
