I've been bussed from A4 for international flights twice, although both shorthaul (a DUS and a BRU).
I would like to think that this is because they already had a few flights from A10 at the same time and none from A4 so thought they would spread the pax around to save crowding at A10, but I doubt it's that logical!

Thanks. I wasn't sure if this was one of those things which was possible but never happened. Will keep an eye out next time I am at T5.

That is actually the reason for using A4 on International flights. I don't believe Domestics can go from A10 though.
I think the A10 gates don't have the face recognition stuff so can't board a domestic flight.
