I have a short haul avios booking next weekend which was booked as a return. I have just had to book a work trip and the savings were significant for starting ex-eu after my holiday weekend, so I had the travel agency book the flights in that way.

So now, I am booked onto the same flight twice (both show in MMB and both are ticketed) and the way I see it, I have a few options:

1. Cancel avios booking and rebook outbound only (not feasible as there is no longer availability and cash tickets either one way or with a fake return are very expensive).

2. Fly the outbound avios and then call up and cancel the inbound more than 24 hours in advance so that I get my avios back

3. In case I forget to do (2), fly the outbound avios and then make sure that I only check in for the cash ticket on the way back to LHR

Any other ideas? As far as I know I can't cancel the inbound of my redemption before flying the outbound?
