I sit here in disbelief as another Friday is upon me and another painful experience with Delta trying to get me home on time. DL864 from SFO arrived early "because of the high tail winds". Due to early arrival, our gate is occupied and we need to wait for it as there aren't many gates here @ DTW that can handle an aircraft of this size. And I sigh. My favorite lines:
- If DTW is your final stop, please let others get off first.
- We are working with our teams to get you rebooked to your destination.
My only question - our flight didn't just "arrive" unbeknownst to them - why does Delta choose to put their customers through this misery seemingly all of the time and act as if this stuff is out of their control?
Was it 3:30 or 7:45 for you?
