Thanks to all for your suggestions. I cancelled my reservation at the Mercure and booked the citizenM instead, the rate had gone down by about €30 since I first looked. It will be far easier to walk 4 minutes to the citizenM than the hassle with immigration inside the airport. I appreciate the always sage advice of my fellow flyertalkers.
