I would not use my homeowner's policy. In PDX, I have twice been quoted a longer duration than it actually took to repair. Once, it took 10 days to fix and another ~28 days. In another incident, UA gave me a replacement bag, which I was later not entirely happy with considering we went from a partial leather bag to a non-leather bag (but I did agree so not too much to be unhappy about). One other option (and I missed where OP is located) is that once we went to the garment district in LA and purchased a new bag at a value I thought was exceptionally good (but a member in our party had a wholesale or retail license/account if that was even needed).
