SFO baggage office had no similar bags available for replacement on Dec 31. It has been almost 7 weeks with no resolution. The bag is a 22" Travelpro Crew 8, I believe.

When Lufthansa damaged my bag, they promptly ordered a replacement and I was up and running again within a week. United's process is unacceptably convoluted and delayed.
