Holy god! How can any airline justify canceling so many International flights?

The Article says IST was shut down for approx. 3.5hours...

Did they simply make the decision that it would be too difficult for people to make it to the airport and instead cancel everything and have fun with the nightmare of rebooking? A lot of those are 77W flights... In my experience operate decently full...

IST is going to be a nightmare for a few days!
