I got what I thought was an interesting confirmation from UA in response to my concerns about cheap upsells coming ahead of cert supported upgrades:
"There are so many seats set aside for certs, paid upgrades and complimentary upgrades. If the paid upgrades go unsold, that availability will be converted to allow a cert to be used at the time of boarding."
I guess I always assumed this to be the case, but I thought it was interesting to see it spelled out. Maybe I've missed this guidance given elsewhere?
