Btw, for years I've thought you guys were crazy to MR for miles/status. Now, a day away from 61k miles in 21 days, I'm sure of it! I think everyone who knows me are planning an intervention...
The turn is not a problem. You will return on the same plane. No, you do not go thru Immigration. There is a large sign to the right of immigration that says transit, just up the escalators and you're there. Plenty of time to eat and shower.
