I just don't see how when this product was designed they (Target & Amex) didn't know that people MS and didn't foresee this (if not plan/take into account), the cc loads that we would do for MS, especially considering the very generous cc direct loads that REDcard provides compared to other MS vehicles before its launch (Oct 2014). Are we really to believe no one at Target and Amex thought people would MS with this?
Even if they were surprised after the fact, I don't see why Target/Amex would totally eliminate cc loads as opposed to lower it to something similar (I'm guessing def higher) then the current cc online limits of Serve. Eliminating cc loads completely would definitely take away feature-wise from this new product and they are still in the stages of promoting and expanding this across the country. Note that while cc loads help mostly us (MS) it also attracts other customers.
Like you said, you are new to MS. A lot of us were around with Serve pre- April 2014 and possibly thought the same as you. Everyone was super excited when CVS allowed loading Serve card with CC. It was perfect. I know that I quickly dropped Bluebird to make the switch. Then all of a sudden, CVS changed their rules. No more Serve reloads or VR purchases with credit cards. I don't believe that it was an Amex decision but rather a CVS decision due to swipe fees, fraud, etc. Therefore, it's quite possible that Target would decide to do the exact same. Has nothing to do with Amex but rather Target.
