I am more worried about the DOH-EDI flight on the 788. Currently in the second row of economy (window seat) and when I chose this seat, the middle one was free and the aisle occupied. Now looking at the seat map, the middle seat is now occupied/blocked. I was fortunate on both outbounds for QR to proactively block the seat next to mine (without asking). I cannot see someone consciously choosing a middle seat in between two strangers when there are plenty more seats to choose from so hoping that QR have been proactively blocking seats again .

Is the only way to bag an exit/bulkhead seat by being early at airport check-in? I called QR before my outbounds to request and wasn't filled with confidence when I asked about the possibility of putting a note in my booking for this request and was advised at that time to check in early. I also didn't hang up and call again due to the call dropping a couple of times and then on hold for ages before I finally got through.

Any experience/advice?

Many thanks in advance.

Safe & Happy travels

Did you enter your FFP into the booking? I know QR Gold (OWS equivalent) did allow me to block a bulkhead previously (and they even left the next seat free - which seems to be a common perk offered as long as space is available according to these forums). Not sure if they still offer this, and if so, whether it extends to other OWS either...
