The 50k miles US Airways card doesn't even refund/waive the fee for the first year.

In order to get 100k miles, you would need to apply for two cards now. It comes with two hard pulls and greater impact on your AAoA.

Am I missing something here?
Yes, you are missing something here. OP asked for the top 5 current signup bonuses. No point in highlighting the virtues or benefits of a 100,000 miles card bonus we cannot currently signup for. It's comparing apples to granite rock.

I am just starting out on the CC miles and points game for travelling. Applied for the US Airways CC in July 2014. Approved. Got 40K miles. Applied again in Jan 2015. Approved. Got 50K miles. Referred 5 friends on US Air referral promo before Jan 18. All 5 got approved. Expecting 50K miles. Already credited for 30K.

So, in six months with 2 US Airways cards, both still open, I already have 130K miles plus all the spend I'm putting on it. Already have enough for at least six domestic roundtrips or three off peak California to Europe roundtrip flights. I'm casual and leisure vacation only flier. I don't fly or travel at all for work in any capacity. I will mainly only look for economy saver awards to maximize my miles. Don't care to waste my miles on business or first class. Eg, recently booked SMF to Montreal, Canada for 20K in May on US Air. A trip from SFO to Paris roundtrip in Oct requires only 40K miles on AA.

And all the 130K cost me was 2 Annual Fees of $89 and 2 soda purchases. How is 100K and 10K min spend and $450 AF better?

Note, my next app is going to be for the Citi Plat for 50K. Probably the business one too for another 50K.
