The TK crash was poor airmanship, so was the BA departure with unfastened cowls. I couldn't honestly say one was worse than the other, in terms of cause, as neither should have happened.

BA got away with it, TK didn't. The stats say BA is a safer airline than TK (and this type of big data commands respect.) I wager either is much safer than riding a motor cycle in an urban area.

Comes down to individual risk perception and rating of various factors regarding the journey.
