I circled back to this, and continue to be amazed at this.

So I had an idea. I googled "Emotional Support Dog letter". A few popped up that were pay-per-click, so I clicked on them just (costing them at least a few pennies!). I considered it my way of assessing a nuisance tax. Feel free to do the same!

Anyway, I perused the the FAQs. Gotta love this nonsense:

"Unlike Service Animals they (the dogs) require no special training."

"DOES THE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL CENTER GUARANTEE THE AIRLINE WILL ACCEPT MY LETTER?
While Emotional Support Animal Center ultimately has no control over what a particular airline or ticket agent may do, the law requires the airline to accept any valid Emotional Support Animal letter and allow your pet to travel with you at no additional cost."

"once you present your prescriptive letter for your Emotional Service Animal at the counter, the airline may not ask you any questions at all and must allow you to board with your pet."


"Will I need a doctor’s note?
Yes, you will need a doctor’s note in order to have an emotional support dog, but you do not need to submit that to us in order to register and get your identification kit."

"What kind of training does my dog need to go through in order to be considered an emotional support dog?
There is no specific training that your dog needs to go through in order to be considered an emotional support dog. Keep in mind that your dog needs to be trained to behave properly in public settings."
