I've only ever flown F on VX, but once my friend flew MCS. His complaint was not about the selection, but about the frequency and quality of service (compared to F). No pre-takeoff beverage, they only came by once during the flight to offer drinks, and when he tried to order a 2nd drink with 30 min left in the flight, he was told that drink service was closed.

This might not be such a big deal on a longer flight, but on a short flight (this was LAS-SFO) it was the difference between getting 3-4 drinks and getting one.
