I have already downloaded MapQuest. I STRONGLY suggest to anyone traveling to Chile not to use Google Maps. I almost missed a flight because of them. Why? The airport I was traveling from was not listed correctly on their maps. In fact - the whole airport isn't even shown at all! What they do show is an older and no longer used airport (which is where I drove). It was almost an absolute disaster - but luckily I made my flight with literally seconds to spare.

Google shows the airport for Temuco here:

However as you can see from the above photo - the blue dot is me. Where am I? I am standing INSIDE Temuco airport. Or what is now the new Temuco airport! This airport was opened in July 2014 and was retitled to La Araucanía (but also known as Temuco on all the airline webpages and car rental websites).

If you see MapQuest correctly shows the airport location:

Although MapQuest too shows the old Temuco Airport (which is now a military airport no longer used for commercial aviation). I know this since I was at the gate talking to one of the Chilean military while he held his machine gun and three attack dogs surrounded him (he was actually super nice - but didn't speak any English). Since my Spanish is poor - I couldn't figure out where the correct airport was and there is no signage at all to explain.

I did search Google for nearby airports - but it showed none. At least MapQuest showed both - so I was able to guess that the other one (about 12 kms south of the old Temuco) was likely the airport to use.

I've never had such problems with Google prior. Is there a way to report this to Google?
