My experience is that a lot of airport gate and club agents don't do this properly, and I always call the CP desk to clean up the record. If you don't call in, and the aiport didn't do it correctly (50-60% of the time they don't in my experience), the later legs will be cancelled at some point overnight during some kind of batch processing.
