If all domestic then there is no PPBM and your bag will be sent to the final destination. And if a nonstop from A-C exists, it very well could be advanced on that flight and skip B all together.

If you plan on breaking the rules of the airline, don't count on them assisting you in your quest to steal money from them. Either buy a ticket for A-B or don't check a bag.
